Strong 'feigned dissatisfaction' vibe about the cockwomble types

Something like: 'pretending to be unhappy about the STATE OF THE UK because despite the non-threatening idiot grins we're ANTI-ESTABLISHMENT REBELS (as we all know THE UK--never England and rarely Britain--is *still* full of unreconstructed antivaxxer gammon brexiteers) while really being delighted at the incredible range of restaurants in safe urban spaces'

Constant use of “bellend” and general leaning into self consciously “British” expression, which feels like it’s put on for Americans. They’re a John Oliver generation, far too self conscious to ever simply BE the people who embody a country
